Jesús Franco - Je brûle de partout (1979)

Synopsis:
Susan Hemingway hooks up with a guy at a discoteque (GREAT disco scene!), has unwilling sex (Brigitte Lahaie joins in on the action) and is drugged and sold off to a "deluxe bordello" where a bunch of dirty, moaning girls are kept in a constant state of excitement by some sort of sex-gas that is pumped into their living quarters. This is film has almost non-stop softcore sex but is still interesting for a francophile due to the dark subject matter and claustrophobic, sweaty atmosphere. There is no happy sex in this film, only rape, perversion, sadism and unfulfilment (as usual in Franco's world). Very low budget film, even by Franco's standard, Franco does the best to cover up the absence of a budget, a descent crew and good locations with some interesting/eccentric camera work and angles. I liked it, but it's almost impossible to discuss in terms of "good" and "bad" and I wouldn't recommend to anybody who haven't been bitten by the Franco bug.

SYNOPSIS:
The life of a private eye in Spain is very different from the one surrounded by blondes and booze that we see in movies. Especially if the detective in the case is our hero Alfredo Pereira, who divides his time between his more or less scandalous cases in the most luxurious and international corner of the Costa del Sol, and his unsual private life. His private life is called Flavia, and it must be admitted she is a blonde, with huge blue eyes. The thing is, she is seven years old and the daughter of our detective, who was given custody of her when he divorced his wife. A new case puts Pereira in contact with a beautiful woman, Eva Radeck, the wife of a foreign financier. Their story is going to perhaps take up too much of Alfredo Pereira's time as the investigation takes on increasingly sombre tints of hatred, vengeance and death. Pereira, who is only tough on the outside, gets caught in the web spun by the seductive Eva and becomes an innocent party in the case, while continuing to be Flavia's soft-hearted daddy. Events come to a head with the vicious murder of Eva.

Synopsis
A group of women are kidnapped by guerrillas and forced to serve as prostitutes for them in a jungle brothel. The sadistic female warden decapitates uncooperative girls.

Jess Franco has made some odd exploitation movies in his long and prolific career, and 'Love Camp' is one of his nuttiest. Never one to shy from jumping on a bandwagon, the title of this seems to deliberately evoke the legendary nazisploitation sleazefest 'Love Camp 7', and the plot in some ways is reminiscent of 'Salo', but with a twist. The twist being, that we aren't talking nazis here but revolutionaries. A group of young and beautiful women are kidnapped, taken into the jungle (what country? who knows) , and forced to be sex slaves for "the revolution".

The female warden (who I assume is Nanda Van Bergen) is a sadistic lesbian and generally acts throughout like a poor man's Ilsa, another series of movies this tries to pattern itself on. 'Love Camp' isn't as explicitly violent as most of the aforementioned movies, and Franco seems more interested in showing lots of flesh rather than torture and gore. The girls spend most of their on screen time naked, and there are a few shower scenes and the like, so Franco sleaze buffs will not be disappointed on that score.
